πŸ“š For your travel bookshelf this week...

Hello!

This week, we're in the mood to celebrate the lovely place we call home.

It's no secret that we're big fans of the British Isles – our ever-growing Slow Travel series is proof of that – but a reminder that there's plenty to discover on our doorstep never hurts.

Whether it's a dog-friendly weekend in Oxford, an active escape on the Isle of Wight, a week spent exploring County Durham or a road trip along Yorkshire's Heritage Coast, these islands are full of memorable adventures waiting to be uncovered.

In keeping with this theme, we'd also like to remind you that there's still time to enter our Photographing the British Isles Competition. And once the entries are in, why not join us at a special event at Stanfords Bookshop on 30th July? Travel writer and photographer William Gray will be sharing his expert tips on capturing the beauty of the British Isles through photography, before announcing this year's competition winners.

We hope to see you there.

Until next time,

The Bradt Team

An Evening With William Gray

Join award-winning photographer William Gray, author of Photography Weekends Britain, for a celebratory evening at Stanfords on 30th July as he reveals how (and where!) to get the finest shots in the British Isles.

In this very special event, Gray will be discussing his methods for getting that perfect shot, as well as offering practical tips on short breaks in Britain’s most photogenic spots.

In addition he will also be announcing the winners of our Photographing the British Isles Competition - which you still have two weeks left to enter...

We hope to see you there!

Escape With Your Pet

Oxford offers plenty for visitors travelling with dogs. From spacious parks and riverside walks to dog-friendly cafΓ©s, pubs and green spaces, there is more to explore with your four-legged companion than you might expect.

Whether you’re visiting for a leisurely afternoon or a full weekend of exploration, the city provides plenty of opportunities for both you and your dog to soak up its charm.
