📚 For your travel bookshelf this week...

Hello!

After a long stretch of grey skies, the UK has finally delivered a scorcher of a bank holiday weekend, and we hope you’ve been making the most of it!

Whether you’ve been stretched out in the garden with some of our travel literature or simply daydreaming about where to head next from a sunny pub bench, this glorious weather has certainly put Britain’s charms back in the spotlight.

From coastal rambles and wild swimming spots to slow-paced market towns and hidden rural retreats, a weekend like this has us reaching for our favourite Slow Travel guides and rediscovering the joy of exploring closer to home.

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that don’t require a passport at all...

Until next time,

The Bradt Team

There’s no shortage of fun to be had on the Isle of Wight. Whether you’re a walker, cyclist or want to embrace the sea in some fashion, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

From scenic coastal walks and cycling trails to watersports and horseriding, this article explores some of the best outdoor activities on the Isle of Wight, helping you plan memorable days out and active holiday adventures across the Island.

If you’re looking to sunbathe on white sand beaches, sip cocktails from coconuts and swim in turquoise waters, you’re in the wrong place.

Prince Edward Island is an island – that much is true – but like everything in Canada, that rarely means the same thing it does elsewhere.

Here's what you need to know.

Lights, Camera…British Isles

We’ve joined forces with William Gray and the Royal Photographic Society to launch a brand-new photography competition showcasing extraordinary moments from across the British Isles.

Open to amateur photographers aged 18+, the competition welcomes entries in landscape, wildlife and city photography, plus a portfolio category for bigger visual stories.

The best part?

It’s free to enter, and you’ve got until 30 June 2026 to submit your shots!
